I am SO excited to be using therapeutic grade essential oils instead of over-the-counter and prescription drugs. This does NOT mean I will not! I am pretty balanced about all this, I think. I still see my doctor and will use my judgement to decide if I should use my essential oils and essential oil products or a medicine or other recommended treatment! I made a little testimonial...
My Testimonial - Controlling Symptoms without drugs!
At 17, I got in a car accident that changed my life. I injured my inner ear and got some injuries that would continue to affect me harshly for years. I was in physical therapy for a year after the accident, but was not progressing to the healing stage and just gave up. During therapy was when I began addiction to Motrin, 800 mg. Young and impractical, I took lots of them. Until under a month ago, I was still taking them along with lots of over-the-counter and prescription medications for other issues. I think the saddest part of using prescription and over-the-counter medicines to alleviate all the symptoms is that they put me in a fog, and I felt hopeless and eventually dependent. No more! Natural remedies to the rescue. I use mostly DoTerra Essential Wellness products but also get things from other reputable distributors and health food stores. Anyway... I wake up with the same pains and aches. I take my MJ Assist. I keep my oils and products downstairs so I have to get up to get them! (With the depression and medicine side effects, I used to stay in bed a lot!) I do stretches and drink a fruit smoothie. If my hands, neck or back are aching in a few minutes, I apply Deep Blue. I put some Frankincense and Elevation on my wrists, Helichrysm behind my ears, and get on with my day. Mid-day, I re-apply oils. I have Peppermint, Citrus oils, DiGestZen, Breathe, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Elevation, and Serenity in my little red clasp purse that goes everywhere with me. Whatever starts to ail me gets a drop of an oil and I am fine. I must say the feeling of having control of my life is very invigorating and motivating. I was like a pill-popping robot, and I honestly did not care. I am sure all this adversely affected my children, who are 4, 8 and 10. But, I am happy to say, they love the oils, and are not on medications any more either. My kids used to be on lots of anti-biotics, more often than needed. My children and I are working on getting into more and more healthy eating and exercise routines every day. Alas, here is what I am treating...: Depression: imbalance of brain chemicals, in varying degree from constant sadness to suicidal, postpartum depression. Anxiety Disorder: anxiety attacks first started about a decade ago. Fibromyalgia: pain everywhere, in varying degrees, all the time. Diagnosed a dozen years ago when I was just out of high school. Meniere's Disease: inner ear disorder causing vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, lots of ear problems. Diagnosed a dozen years ago. Neck and back injury: muscle and joint pain, constant, sometimes flared up quite bad, from car accidents and other injuries. Arthritis and tendonitis: diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel also, at 18, mostly in hands. Asthma: diagnosed when I was about 25, not that bad. High Cholesterol: diagnosed a couple years ago. Pre-diabetes: diagnosed first 10 years ago after gestational diabetes, re-diagnosed (more serious) three years ago. Everyone in MI must have sinus trouble! I used a lot of OTC meds and nasal inhalers. Acid Reflux: since I had the kids...not every day but often. IBS - Collitis: intestinal issues, varying degrees, since I was very young.
Thyroid: first diagnosed a dozen years ago.

I want to say my Doctor is wonderful. He always tried to get me to regulate things more naturally, control diet, exercise, etc...but I did not care about myself enough to listen. I would call or see my husband's doctor, getting medications for him to use myself. (Hard to admit but I had a serious problem, and my family is going to read this!) I have caused my body damage that I can only try to correct going forward. I am extremely overweight, and stuggling a bit with cholesterol and high blood sugar now, but feel so much better already. I still have aches and pains, and I work through them. I can do it, and I am in control!
